I really don't understand the reviews. This is definitely the best gym in the Palo Alto area. I just joined and honestly apprehensive due to the bad reviews. The gym is clean, people are nice, classes are great. I really do love it so I felt like I should leave a review for others looking for a good gym. Service so far has been good.

I've been surprised to see all the negative reviews about Equinox in Palo Alto. My wife and I have been members for almost a year, and we haven't had any issues. The management staff has been great, always listening and accommodating when we've brought something up. For instance, they waived the fee when we needed a day pass while visiting another city, even though there's usually a charge. The machines at Equinox are always operational, unlike other gyms we've experienced. The cleaning team is there every day, diligently keeping the machines, laundry, and overall facility clean and organized. This attention to cleanliness and order is something I really appreciate. Regarding the negative reviews about price, filming policies, and poor classes, let me start by saying this: you wouldn't go to a Ferrari dealership and complain about the prices. If you can't afford it, don't go. It's the same at Equinox--you pay a premium to separate yourself from places like 24 Hour Fitness and other gyms, and in my opinion, you get what you pay for. Everything is expensive nowadays, and if Equinox's fees are too high for you, you have the power to choose not to spend the money. Another bad review mentioned not being able to film in the gym. Well, this is not your TikTok or Instagram platform; it's a place to focus on fitness and your personal goals, not for gaining followers. If you're looking for a clean gym with a friendly staff, Equinox is a great choice. Yes, there are day-to-day issues that pop up, but that's normal--it's called life, and nothing is perfect. For those who badmouth the establishment without even talking to management, it's time to get off your entitled high horse and grow up. Either invest in yourself and pay the money or don't. It's that simple. Stop making it a bigger issue than it really is.

My review is solely of Tal, a personal trainer. Tal gave me a training session when I was considering Equinox. Equinox ultimately did not work out for me, and the pool was too cold which for me was a deal breaker, but I would like to give a shout-out to Tal and recommend him heartily to new clients at Equinox. First off, Tal is amazingly clear when he demonstrates good form. Secondly, Tal adapts and adjusts exercises as needed. Thirdly, he quickly and graciously establishes a personal connection and shows interest in you as a person. And lastly, he gave me some tips which were new to me even though I had had several personal trainers before Tal. I wish I could continue working with Tal but the logistics do not align for that.
